I think I am going to consider this one finished. If you are interested in it, the portrait will be offered in a fund raiser. I will be posting the information very shortly .

I wasn't happy with how the layout felt so I changed reference photos on one to make it more in balance with the other two. I would much rather start over this early in the portrait than try to work on something that doesn't feel right to me. I am much happier with it now and feel like the changes will give me the results I want. I still need to decide on a background color. When I am working with llamas and alpacas, there are so many fine hairs that play a part in the portrait and I need a background before I can detail the edges.
This is a piece I am working on for a local bird rescue group. They are using it in their fund raiser. I would say it is 75% finished. I can add detail to the feathers which will make the portrait come to life.
I now am blocking in the color and it is starting to take shape.. obviously still very early but you can start to get an idea of what is happening. I am looking for colors in the photos to use and I try to determine what background color I will use.. I am thinking kind of a neutral that would compliment all 3 llamas. The first two stages are not as much fun as when I get to the part where I start adding detail that will come next.
