I am not sure why I can't find this in my gallery. I figured I would put it in since it is different from the camelids I have been posting lately.. again,, it is all about the eyes for me

#27 is the name of the llama.  He was an import and he came over with that name and it stuck.

Today's post is a portrait I am doing from a piece that was commissioned at the ALSA Grand Nationals,,, I have blocked in the color and I will wait to see if I am going in a direction the owner likes before I put in the details

I am at the ALSA Grand National Championship Llama Show in Lincoln Nebraska with my Art Booth and this is what I am working on today. The reference photo is on the top and the pastel is on the bottom.

I have started adding some more detail to this portrait. The fun thing about doing artwork is you can change things that you didn't see before and adjust to the way you see the photo or reference today. Yesterday I considered leaving the portrait loose and without a lot of detail, but today I decided it needed more detail. I am happy with the progress.
